For those of you who will be joining us for camping at Cove Spring Park here are some need to know items to help you get ready. First item is the camping area itself. We will be camping in a big open grassy field so shade is a bit hard to come by.
We will only be allowed one central campfire for community gatherings in the evening. Due to this winter's ice storm there is more than ample firewood being supplied by the park staff. DO NOT BRING FIREWOOD WITH YOU! The park staff is very concerned about importation of Emerald Ash Borers. You might want to think about bringing camp chairs for fireside seating.
If you signed up for the meals and camping package, we will have a camp kitchen for community use to prepare breakfast and dinner each day. There will be a signup sheet for cooking and cleanup duties, and we would like everyone to sign up to help out with at least one meal.
We want to keep the trash to a minimum so please bring your own plates, bowls, utensils and glasses. We will have wash sinks and hot water available for washing your dishes. We will be providing coffee, water and soft drinks with the meals, but any other beverage you would like will be your responsibility to keep on ice in your own coolers. Lunches will be on your own and there are plenty of nice down home places to eat in Frankfort, or if you would prefer to prepare your own food, we will do our best to make the cooking equipment available if you need it.
RV Camping is not available at this location! If you would like to RV camp in the area, please download the Area Lodging PDF on the Lodging page. The campgrounds with RV capability are listed in the box at the bottom of the second page.
If you have any questions please feel free to email them to PTN executive director Rudy R. Christian at rchristian@PTN.org. We’re all looking forward to a great community event in Frankfort. See you there! |
